Windows 10: Folder Contents Preview Not Working

I have many folders and used to be able to scroll down and see the contents of each folder without having to open the folder. After an update a few months ago that's gone. I've tried all the registry hacks, file explorer options, advanced system settings, etc. Am in the Insider Program.Edition Windows 10 Pro Version Dev Installed on ‎5/‎26/‎2021 OS build 21390.1010 Experience Windows 10 Feature Experience Pack 321.13302.10.3

Preview pane doesn't work in Windows 10

1. Are you facing issue with all your files or any particular files?
   
2. Which version of Windows you are using?
   
3. Since when are you facing this issue?
   

The Preview pane shows the contents of certain files selected in File Explorer. For images, it is a thumbnail preview.

If you are unable to preview in File explorer, I suggest you to try the below steps.

1. Open a new File Explorer window and click the View tab from the ribbon toolbar.
   
2. Click Options, and then click Change folder and search options to open Folder Options dialog.
   
3. Check the Show preview handlers in preview pane box, and click/tap on OK.​

Eliminate Folder Contents Previews

I would like to stop Windows 10 from showing FOLDER content previews in the form of partial thumbnails.

All of the instructions I have seen for changing this also change the actual FILE view to an icon instead of a thumbnail, which I do not want.

How do I prevent FOLDER contents previews in Windows 10?

(I have done this in the past in Windows 8.1, so I assume it's possible in Windows 10).
