Windows 10: Folder Icon on external hdd not updating

I have a 5TB ext. hdd. When i create an empty folder in it, the folder shows empty folder icon. But when i move/create files/folder inside that empty folder , the icon remains the sameof empty folder . I have to go to folder properties and reset the icon in order to show correct icon. Also after deleting every files/folders inside a particular folder , the folder shows non-empty folder icon. It doesn't happen with local folders or in any other external hard drive

• Have you made any recent changes on your computer prior to the issue?
• Which driver did you uninstall? Have you reinstall the driver? If yes, how did you reinstall the driver?
• Have you check if the external HDD is visible in Device Manager?

How to make a Uber Hidden Folder

• Make a new folder.
• Change the icon to a blank icon. No icon should appear
• Rename the folder to a blank by pressing "alt + 255." (NOTE: Press 255 on the numpad) No text should appear.
• Your done! It is uber hidden. *Big Grin

 

How to make vista display same icon size for all opened folders in explorer ?

i dont think this answers the question , how do i make all icons in all folders appear "Large Icons" .
