Folder optimisation keeps reverting to music

Windows keeps defaulting to the music view optimization for one of my hard drives. Since I often use things like group by type this is quite inconvenient to keep having to switch. I suspect that it might be because the drive is marked as D which was typically a disc drive in computers that had internal ones. My computer doesn't have an internal disc drive so I use external one for playing DVDs and the like.I tried switching the mode to General But it won't stick and seems to only change some folders even when "Apply to all subfolders" also checked.Any solutions? Thanks

    :)

Drive and folders with Music on it keep reverting to Read Only

I have an internal drive with Serato programs and music library on it. It keeps reverting back all the folders to read only. attribute change through command prompt, admin does not difference either.

  3. changing folder optimisation

I have a folder that contains .mp3 files copied from another location. They are not music files.

When I open it it shows the filenames with track number, artist etc - which are not relevant.

I need to see this kind of view, which I can get by folder - properties - customise - optimise for general items

but for some reason if I close the folder it reverts to the "music" customisation.

I'm running windows 11 home fully updated, on a home-built PC

Music folder keeps reverting to Read-only

My Music folder and the files within keep reverting to Read-only. I'm the owner (and administrator) of the file so that shouldn't be the issue.

When I uncheck Read-only and Apply it nearly finishes but then gives me the message:

    Error Applying Attributes

An error occurred applying attributes to the file:

The system cannot find the file specified.

I Ignore All and retry and it takes the same amount of time.
