  1. Folder Options, View, Apply to Folders: Can I not set the whole drive and all...

Just did a new Win7 install and as can be expected there are lots of surprises. I just want to set the Folder Options, View, "Apply to Folders" so everything is consistent from top to bottom. But I can't do this from the hard drive letter. I can't even do this with subfolders! It used to work. Something must be blocking it. I've never had this problem before. I thought that once I set things to List view at the top, whatever folder was in that will display its contents in List view. I must have done something. Any suggestions?

    :)

  2. Custom Folder view for new folders registery hack ?

I swear i saw this somewhere

It's not what you think, tools > folder options > view.
That's for existing folders only , i need to change the default view setting for when you create a new folder !

I already applied the Win7 Full Row Mod

  3. Setting folder view

Hi. I have folders on my E drive which I like to see in List view. Some of those folders contain sub-folders which I also like to see in List view. When it comes to the actual files, I'd like them shown as Large Icons.

Is such a setup possible? Thank you. (version 1903)

I think I've solved it. Set top-level folder to Large Icons then go to View/Options/Change... and click Apply to Folders. Then just change the top-level folder back to Details by right-clicking an empty space.

Taking this a step further, is it possible to have different file views in different folders i.e. all the files in Folder A are shown one way while the files in Folder B are shown another?

View>list folder option doesn't stick to all folders

In a folder, when I do View>list and then in Options apply that to all folders, it often doesn't stick, i.e some sub folders under that folder show the details view. Any suggestions?

In fact it looks like all new folders are defaulting to details view.
