Windows 10: Folder security and other tabs missing on folder properties for some folders - Windows 10 home

Sirs, peers and learned professionalsOn some folders, only but not on all, the folder properties do not show the security options. The situation is similar to the one described here https://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/forum/all/folder-security-and-details-tab-missing/79ddb3e1-911e-4a10-9d4a-b5e3538086e0 but not identical. There are a number of other similar questions in a variety of forums but none address this particular issue, perhaps because none of them really understood the question that was being asked.Anyway, in the case I reference no folder properties dialogues displayed

Windows folder security.

Is there a way to disable ALL windows security on folders? I'm using Windows 7 and trying to replace some system files that may be currupt and I get the "You need permission..." bitching from Windows. I know I can take ownership of the folder through the security tab but it's getting REALLY old having to do this for each and every file and folder I'm trying to overwrite. *Bang Head :banghead:

I'm the administrator for christ sake. If I want to open my drive and take a crap in it, do I need permission from Microsoft?

 

Windows 8 - delete windows folders in another drive

Try right click on folder > Properties > Security tab > Advanced > Permissions Tab > Change Permissions > Add yourself if not added > change to full control

If owners utility worked you should see yourself at Properties > Security tab > Advanced > Owner Tab ... if not add yourself there

Log off, log on

Try deleting the folder

This issue might occur if there is change in folder settings.



To assist you to better, please provided us the information below:

• Is the issue occurring with all the folder?
• Have you tried to create a new folder and checked its properties?

I suggest you to create a new folder on the computer and check its properties for Share tab.

Also I recommend you to send the screenshot of the issue in the next post.
