Windows 10: Folders and images won't open in Windows 11

When I open a folder, it opens VLC. I figured it was the problem so I uninstalled it but now Visual Studio opens up. I can still open the folder by right clicking and opening it in a new window/tab but its irritating. Additionally, images won't open either. I can open images with paint3D or paint but not Photos. I've tried doing a system restore to 31/3/25 but for some reason it was unable to change anything. Additionally, I strangely don't have any other restores other than the 31st of March or before that. I've scoured the internet but no one recent seems to have a fix to this problem. For r

Windows won`t open an program when using Microsoft user

Windows won`t open an program when I try to open it with Microsoft account user, but when I login with local account, that program opens. I have tried with 2 Microsoft accounts, 1 admin and 1 normal user, and it won`t open in either one of them. What can cause this?

• Under General, next to “Open File Explorer to:” choose “This PC.”
• Click OK

I suggest you to try the below steps and check if it helps.

Step 1: Run Windows app troubleshooter.

Step 2: Run shell commands for Windows store and check if it helps.

Follow the below steps:

• 
  Press Windows key + X and select
  Command prompt(Admin) to open elevated Command prompt.
  
• 
  Type the following commands.
  
  
  
  powershell -ExecutionPolicy Unrestricted Add-AppxPackage -DisableDevelopmentMode -Register $Env:SystemRoot\WinStore\AppxManifest.xml
  
• 
  Hit enter, the blackscreen will appear still for a couple of seconds. After a couple of second a new line saying C:\.... will appear.
  
• 
  Close Command Prompt.
  
• 
  Try to start the Windows Store again.
