Windows 10: Folders do not restore when restarting Windows 11

Hello,I have been looking for an answer to this issue since I received my new Dell with Windows 11 Pro. I am running version 23H2.There are several folders opened on my desktop, and when I reset my system, or it is done automatically with an update, the folders that were opened and strategically placed on the desktop, will not reopen unless done so manually.I have made sure that the option in the folder view indicates "Restore previous folder windows at logon" is checked.This was working perfectly in Windows 10. There was never an upgrade to Windows 11 on this machine, as it was purchased wi

I suggest you to Restore to Default the folders and document settings and see if it helps.

Step 1:

Please follow below steps and check if it helps.

• Go to Download folder.
• Right click on the Download Folder and go to Properties.
• In Properties go to Location tab.
• In location Tab Click on Restore Default.

Step 2:

Please follow below steps and check if it helps.

• Go to Documents folder.
• Right click on the Document folder and go to Properties.
• In Properties go to Location tab.
• In location Tab Click on Restore Default.

After performing above steps change the settings as you required and check if it helps.

Windows XP PRO error after restore

System restore is handy when it works like it did for me 2 days ago saving the need to reinstall all of my software as well as windows, id suggest using norton Ghost 12 for an excellent system restore feature.

 

Is it possible to restore the files and folders on restarting the system?

• When you say “restore the files or folders”, which files or folders are you referring to?
• Did you save the files or folders prior to restarting or shutting down the PC?

You will not be able to retrieve or restore the unsaved files & folders on restarting or shutting down the computer. On restarting or booting the computer, the files or folders will show you only the contents which was saved prior to performing
the action on the PC.
