Windows 10: FOLDERS & FILES HAVE COMPLETELY DISSAPPEARED FROM DESKTOP WIN 11

Now I do know that files, folders etc do not get completely deleted and deep in the C drive or other drives they are still there.I use FENCES and 4 days ago I clicked a folder in a fence, screen went black for about 2 secs, reopened and all the folders in that fence approx 20 all disappeared.So far I haveSystem restore twice using different datesRecyle binWin 11 historyGoogle drive back upeasus date recoveryRecoveritdskchksfc scannowsoul searched for hours the C driveUsers folder documents me as user in the C drive explorer but that says "this folder is empty"Alas...there is NOTHING ..

windows 10 deleted my desktop files

Step 1 - I upgraded to Win 10 and lost all my files on Desktop.

Step 2 - Found the files in Network - USers- Desktop

copied all files again to desktop.

Step 3- Restarted my machine again and lost desktop files again.

Step 4 - As suggested did the following as listed below but dont find my files.

• Press “Windows + E”, open This PC/Computer
• Open Local Disc C, open Windows.old
• Click on Users, select your User name
• Go to desktop folder

Cant find my files. Why is Win 10 deleted files again and again from Desktop ?.

 

Photos dissappeared from folder

Hi Mark,

To the best of knowledge I belive there may have been an update also my anti virus expired but I put a new one on straight away.

One anomaly that comes to mind was all my usual desktop files and background completely changed and lots of software dissappeared when the system started up. I could access files through hard drive via desktop including photos. Then about a week later all
the stuff came back on the desktop and then that's when the picture files dissappeared but all software and stuff on desktop was safe.

HOME ICON APPEARS ON DESKTOP IN WIN 11 22H2 VERSION

Hello,

I've recently upgraded my desktop system to Win 11 version 22H2 with a fresh install. I've copied a folder on the desktop from another internal HDD. After sometime I deleted the folder. However an icon named as "Home" appeared suddenly on the desktop. It is not a shortcut, and opens the quick access files when left clicked. There is no option to delete it in the right click options. It does not exist in the desktop icon settings of the themes, so it is impossible to check or uncheck its box in order to display or remove. It dissappears when I refresh the desktop page, or when I check or uncheck any of the boxes of other desktop icons which is quite strange. I searched the web and found some similar complaints of others, but found no solution. Could you please inform about whether this is a bug or something else, and suggest a solution if there is. By the way I have not encountered such a problem in the previous versions of Win11 and Win 10.
