Windows 10: Folders/Files on the desktop won't open when clicking the mouse scroll button.

Folders/Files on the desktop won't open when clicking the mouse scroll button. They open when left clicking the left mouse button. Folders NOT on the desktop do open when using the mouse scroll button. I have windows 11 pro 22H2 installed on my machine.I have checked the folder propertied to check that double clicking folders to open is checked.Machine specs are:------------------System Information------------------ Operating System: Windows 11 Pro 64-bit 10.0, Build 22621 22621.ni_release.220506-1250 Language: English Regional Setting: English System M

Won;t stop scrolling

If you don't press down on the wheel and just roll the wheel forward or back it will scroll the page up or down. Pressing the wheel it will automatically scroll. You can adjust the behavior, how many lines it scrolls, of the Middle Wheel How To Fix Middle Mouse Button And Scroll Wheel Not Working

Explorer defaults to opening this page when you open a new window. If you’d rather open the usual This PC, with links to your drives and library folders, follow these steps:

• Open a new Explorer window.
• Click View in the ribbon.
• Click Options.
• Under General, next to “Open File Explorer to:” choose “This PC.”
• Click OK

In list view, clicking on a folder initiates horizontal scroll left


As I'm sure many are aware, this is not a new subject. Unless the mouse click is very "deliberate/slow, the mouse click prompts a horizontal scroll to the left instead of opening the given folder. I've heard explanations in the past for why this is so, but frankly, they never made sense to me. Is there currently anything that can be done?
