Windows 10: Folders not synching - can I recover deleted folders in Mail?

I recently started using Mail in Windows 10 and synched it to my email account. There appeared to several folders for Drafts with various names such as Draft, Drafts 1, and so on. So I deleted those that I thought were duplicates.

However, I now realise that the Drafts folder does not contain any of my drafts - the correct drafts folder is there if I go to my email account online or via my phone but not in Mail.

Is there any way to recover the deleted folders in Mail or to make Mail somehow synch correctly and download the correct Drafts folder?

I've already tried uninstalling and then installing the Mail app but it's made no difference

I've also deleted my email account in Outlook if that's of any relevance.

Thanks for the suggestion but it says "delete folder failed for E:\....." for each folder I try.

Hi I formatted my hard drive and installed win 7 64bit and I forgot to copy my private folder from Windows Live Mail is there any way to recover it.

Thank you for the suggestion. The only message I find at the bottom of the message list in the deleted items folder is "To find older messages, use Search". My search did not work.
