Windows 10: Folders Showing Properties Insted Of Opening

saturdy i replaced my motherboard and then reinstalled 10 pro 1703. everything was working great until after a reboot when i would click on a folder or a program shortcut it would open the properties instead of launching the program or opening the folder. i ran into this once before on a friends system and manged to fix it, but for the life of me this time i couldn't remember what i did to fix it, so this time i just did a reset of windows. if anyone knows the fix for this can you post a link so i have a reference to fall back on if the issue arises again? thanks

Cortana wont play my music

When i open the music files properties it says it is stored in C/Users/Mike, but it shows up in the This PC folder as well.

Did you open this backup on 10 or just looking at properties that says 0 bytes and no files or folders?

My images and back ups show 0 bytes. But if you open them with admin privileges, then you will see the size and files/folders and usually after you open the backup or image then check the main icon that was 0 bytes and it will most likely show the actual
size, files and folders now.

 

Don't know if it fits your problem but some time back saw where the mouse was the problem, the buttons got switched in Control Panel, Mouse which worked fine for a left-handed person. I still have a couple of clients using that setting.
