Windows 10: Follow up to Canon MX410 scanner not recognized by pc W10

I have a Canon MX410 Scanner. How do I initiate a scan using Windows 10?

I have a Canon MX410 Printer which is older. I can create scans using my Windows 7 computer but I cannot create scans using Windows 10. I have tried going to Settings, clicking on Printers and Scanners but I can't open the printer driver to operate the
scanner.

Like the previous poster suggested, unplug the USB cable from the printer and turn off the printer.
Start the installation of the drivers, watch the install windows VERY CAREFULLY as there will be instructions as to when you need to plug the USB cable into the printer and turn the printer on.
I ran into this exact scenario when I installed my printer after a Windows 10 Pro install (1909).
The printer ran fine but when I tried to use the scanner, no dice...
Printer is Canon MG6820.

The only other thing I can suggest if that doesn't work is to turn your firewall off, turn off any anti-virus software, and then do the driver installation again following the install windows VERY CAREFULLY.
I had to do that step on a Windows 7 Pro PC in order for the scanner to work.

Can't connect a Canon LIDE 210 Scanner

GM ! I have a new Lenovo desktop computer, and it recognizes my HP Envy Photo 7155 printer, and it prints fine.

The problem is it does not see or recognize my Canon Scanner. It is an older scanner, and it is connected by USB. I had no problem scanning or copying, etc. with the Canon scanner with the old computer running Windows 7. Any suggestions ? Thank You !
