Windows 10: Following a motherboard hardware failure...

Following a motherboard hardware failure i need to get the license key for my windows 10 pro but am unable to as the motherboard is completely inoperable.Am unsure how to proceed.

I suggest you to run the Hardware and Devices troubleshooter by following the steps below:

• Click on the Start button, and type “Troubleshooting” on the search bar.
• Click on “hardware and devices”.
• A pop-up will appear, click on the “Next” button and follow the on-screen promts for troubleshooting.
  

Also, update the driver for Keyboard by following the steps below:

• Press Windows key + X and click on
  Device manager.
• Expand Keyboards from the list.
• Right click on the driver and select
  update driver software.

Windows 10 and upgrading motherboard

The only hardware changes that can negatively impact activation status once you upgrade to free version are the changes to the:

• CPU
• TPM
• Motherboard replacement

The following changes are examples of hardware changes that will NOT impact the activation status:

• HDD/SSD
• Video card
• Adding extra memory

One of the possible reasons why you're USB and SHDC ports aren't working is due to hardware failure. We suggest that you run the Hardware troubleshooter. Follow the steps below:

• Type Hardware troubleshooter in the search box > Select
  Hardware and Sound.
• Select Hardware and Devices.
• Follow the on-screen instructions.
