Windows 10: Following recent Windows 10 updates keyboard is resetting to English keyboard after hibernation

Every time I wake my laptop from hibernation the keyboard resets to standard English, which is driving me up the wall. This never happened in the past.


My language settings:


Primary: English UK with Hungarian keyboard

Secondary: Hungarian with Hungarian keyboard


Why does Microsoft always end up taking steps backwards with its updates? Driving me nuts

Thank you for posting in Microsoft Community.

I would suggest you to remove English UK and just have the default English US under keyboard input language and check.

Step 1:To keep English US as the default input language and to remove other installed services

a. Type Settings in the search bar and click on the setting symbol on the top right.

b. Click on Time and Languages.

c. Click on Region and Languages.

d. Under the languages tab.

e. Click and Change the language to English US.

Step 2:Use on screen keyboard to type the characters (@, “)

To use on-screen keyboard, follow the steps below.

a. Click on Start; type “On-screen” without quotes and hit Enter.

b. Now check if you’re able to get right characters.

Did you change the language to English after or before the upgrade to Windows 10?

Characters of which language are not matching, Japanese or English?

Update the drivers for keyboard and check. Follow the steps :

• Press Windows + X
• Click Device Manager
• Expand Keyboard
• Right click and choose “Update drivers”

I suggest you to check if the issue persists when you connect another keyboard to your system.

If the issue is with the keyboard, then suggest you to update the keyboard drivers by following the steps below.

• 
  Press Windows key + X and select
  Device Manager from the list.
  
• 
  Expand ‘Keyboard’ from the list.
  
• 
  Right click on the driver and select ‘update driver software’ and follow the prompts.
