Windows 10: Font inconsistency problem in Windows 10, 22H2

Hi,I just got a new Win10 laptop and found the fonts among windows are not consistent. Some looks like Calibri, and some looks like Mincho, like the attached picture shows. Calibri looks more neat in most situations, and Mincho sometimes can be unrecognizable because of its thin lines and bold endpoints. I wish fontsto be all like Calibri.I tried to adjust system locale and with/without UTF-8 support, the font inconsistent is still there. I found these steps in this forum from back in 2010:

Step 1:

I would suggest you to try these steps and check whether it helps in fixing your issue.

Open font settings by clicking on start, click on control panel, and then click on appearance and personalization, under fonts click on change font settings. And select the font size.

Step 2:

If you’re trying to change windows font size then please follow the steps below:

To change Windows fonts

1. Open Appearance Settings by clicking the Start button and then clicking Control Panel. In the search box, type window color, and then click Change window colors and
metrics.

2. In the Item list, click the part of Windows that you want to change the font for. For example, if you want to change the menu font, click Menu in the list. Then, make any of the following changes:

· In the Font list, click the font that you want to use.

· In the Size list, click the font size that you want.

· In the Color list, click the font color that you want.

3. Repeat these steps for each item that you want to make changes to, and then click OK.

Inconsistent size of fonts in Windows 11

Dear all

the problem

Since this start up, I am experiencing inconsistent size of fonts on my Windows 11.

Font size in windows bar, search menu, parameters is fine.

Font size in Explorer, firefox, chrome, ... are very small. They appears as if scaling factor was not applied to them.

See an example of inconsistent font sizes





Trials

I've tried to change several time the scaling factor, played with the font size option. But problem remains.

Root cause ?

I can't identify a root cause to it.

Yesterday I had an update of Windows and I installed and uninstalled a dev version of GIMP

 

How to get the Windows 10 2022 Update version 22H2  

If you can't install it from windows update you can try to install it manually, it's the same KB5015684 obtained with windows update.
