Windows 10: foobar2000

I'm starting this thread, after recently re-installing the latest version of foobar2000 v1.5.1 for the first time in quite a while!

foobar2000 is an advanced freeware audio player for the Windows platform; there is also a comprehensive Store version and is also available on iOS and Android.
foobar is known for its highly modular design, breadth of features, and substantial user flexibility in configuration.

There is a wealth of information to be found at the foobar2000 Forums as well.

I am genuinely impressed with this feature rich audio player, all over again, and hope that other users, who utilize this software, will share their insights, discoveries and reviews, etc.

Cleaning up music tags with foobar2000

I've been struggling with Nokia's buggy Ovi Player as it's quite quick and easy at transferring CDs.

However it's been messing up the music tags when ripping CDs (especially the older versions).



Perhaps I'm the only one who didn't know about it (or was stupid enough to persavere with Ovi Player) but tonight I installed foobar2000, which is freeware, and extremely powerful at organising and editing your music tags.



So if you're having problems with the bugs in OVI Player then I'd recommend organising your collection in foobar2000.



And in the unlikely event you work for Nokia and are reading this then install foobar2000 and see how something works with (as far as I can tell) no bugs - and then make Ovi Player work in the same way.

Foobar2000

One of the beautiful things about Foobar2000 is that you can customize and/or add any shortcut you want *Smile
For example, I added "add to queue" to CTRL+Q

You can also assign global hotkeys

File -> Preferences (or just CTRL+P) -> Keyboard shortcuts -> Add New (or click on an existing one and edit it)

foobar2000 options missing from Window Explorer context menu


I don't have the options to play a folder or queue tracks in foobar2000 anymore in Windows Explorer context menu. I've already checked Shell Integration on foobar2000 Preferences, and "Folder context menus" box is already checked. Apparently, the foobar2000 context menu options were replaced with Windows Media Player ones. The context options for Media Player Classic and Winamp are still there, though. I don't think it's related, but foobar2000 is already default music player.

I have checked Windows Registry, specifically Computer\HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\Directory\shell, and two foobar related keys exist there: foobar2000.enqueue and foobar2000.play. Neither key is empty, and each one contains the respective expected command.

I don't know what else to do in order to restore the context menu actions for foobar2000. I'm not sure, but I guess this issue has arisen when I installed Windows 10 Fall Creators Update (version 1709). Does anyone know any other Windows Registry Editor keys that I could check to see if I can get the foobar2000 options in context menu? Thanks in advance.
