Windows 10: For any Dual Booters with GRUB first booting-How to make it so you can get into Bitlocker...

I am setting up a dual boot system, and have it so GRUB comes up first- The issue is, when I turned on Bitlocker after setting up Windows then Debian, I noticed in GRUB, whenever i select Windows Boot Manager, I just get a black screen.... Note:everything is UEFI and Secure Boot is not on]

I could get to windows by going straight into it from the BIOS boot order menu and jumping into it there, but I've heard you can have GRUB take you there- but I don't see a Bitlocker password screen when i hit the option in GRUB... What am I missing?

Entering recovery mode with a dual booted system

So I dual booted Windows 10 with Kali Linux then deleted the Linux partition and forgot to change the boot settings now I am locked out and stuck in a thing called grub booter (I think). I can't even reinstall Linux to fix it. Can anyone help me out?

Is GRUB installed to another partition where you have or had Linux? If so you should be able to delete that partition and it may be easier to rebuild the BCD. But if GRUB is installed in the System or Windows partitions then it may be hard to overwrite.
This is a reason it's best to follow this procedure to Dual Boot so you know how to get rid of it properly:

When rebuilding the BCD remember that the boot files are not necessarily on the C partition but will more likely be on the System Reserved or EFI System. So you can determine this with Diskpart and if necessary Assign a letter so you can export the BCD first
which is often necessary to have it work.

 

Dual Booting Windows 10 and Ubuntu 18.04 with Bitlocker Enabled

I took the following steps to create a dual boot setup on my SurfaceBook with Windows 10 and Ubuntu 18.04

1) Installed Windows 10

2) Suspended Bitlocker

3) Installed Ubuntu 18.04 from a USB bootable thumbdrive alongside Windows 10. This completed successfully and I restarted.

4) Presented with GRUB screen to choose OS and chose to enter Windows10 (worked this one time) which automatically re-enabled Bitlocker.

5) Restarted which presents the GRUB screen, I selected Windows10 and was presented with the Bitlocker recovery screen

6) Entered my recovery code and clicked the restart button

7) Shown GRUB screen and picked Windows10 again

8) Presented with Bitlocker recovery screen ....

9) This loop continues indefinitely

I am stuck entering the 48-digit Bitlocker recovery code indefinitely, never making it through to Windows. I tried using the Windows command prompt to enter 'manage-bde -unlock <48 digit code>', but when I run 'manage-bde -status', the encrypted windows volume is not even listed as an option. It does not see the Windows partition at all.

I can enter and use Ubuntu with no issue. Had I disabled Bitlocker, there would be no issue. It's the Bitlocker part that's causing me all the headache.

What are the proper steps to get this dual boot working with Bitlocker?
