My Windows 10 Pro desktop meets ALL the requirements for Windows 11:TPM 2.0 enabled yessupports Secure Boot yes8 GB RAM4TB HD4 Cores...except for the processor being 5th generation. It has 4 cores & runs at 3.2 GHz, so it's not slow. What TECHNICAL reason does Microsoft have for not letting it run Windows 11, other than because it's merely 5th gen? I'm poor and find it hard to fork over $ for a new or even used desktop pc if I don't have to. Just wondering the reason, and also if it's just a "blanket rule" that might not apply to a processor that's 3.2 GHz & 4 cores, even though it'

9th Generation not compatible with windows 11????

    Hi,

I did the windows compatibility test on my PC which has Skylake i7-6700 9th generation processor but Microsoft says it's not compatible.

I thought it support 8th generation and higher?

I also hear that no more processors are being added to the list?

I'm not going to buy a new processor to run windows 11, what are my options? and why is my processor not on the list?

  3. When will Win 11 be compatible with 5th generation Intel processors?

    Hello, how are you?

My name is Paloma B., I am very happy to be able to try to help you in the best possible way.

I understand that you have questions about updating Windows 11.

Unfortunately, this will not happen, as not all processors have made it onto MS's official compatibility list.

In addition to UEFI, TPM 2.0 and Secure Boot, to support Windows 11 the Processor must have a feature called VBS or Windows Memory Integrity, but those that are not on the list do not support this.

That's why MS decided not to include these processors in the list, as it can generate a lot of performance problems.

It is even possible to install Windows 11 manually, but it is not recommended as it is not worth it.

Anyway, Windows 10 will be compatible until 2025, the recommendation is to keep it, if you keep using this processor.

If for some reason you upgrade your processor to a newer and more compatible model, then yes, it is recommended that you upgrade to Windows 11.

    I await news.
