Aside from Xcopy, Robocopy, batch files, or the like, is there any way to have Windows quietly replace existing files when copying or moving?

  2. Windows 10 - Very large icon when copying or moving files in File Explorer...

    No! No answer here!

I have come to know that Microsoft software never has bugs - just creative features that they will claim are, "innovations our customers ask for." I would love to meet some of these users - I truly don't know any of them!

All that aside, I have often used hot keys to do moves or copies. At-least then I know where I am putting them.

I don't post microsoft sites - the kinds of trivial questions that are asked and actually answered there are not the kinds of things I am seeking answers too. I google - yes, google - not some M$ search, whatever they happen to be calling it today - and
if an answer is not found in that way, it is unlikely to exist.

    Take care,

It won't 'quietly replace' as the OP wants. Duplicate names will trigger a request for you to choose what action to take. I think Hairy Scot want's to bypass this prompt, but I don't know if there's any way to do that.

  5. You've hit the nail on the head Bree.
I have searched and searched but to no avail.
I was hoping someone on the forum would have an idea.
But perhaps even Brink is stumped.

Now on a real computer ...........................
