Windows 10: Force DLL project to use VCLibs instead of vc_redist

Project here: https://github.com/AkazaRenn/FruitLanguageSwitcher/tree/main/Core/LanguageSwitcherIt currently requires vc_redist as its dependency, so any user without vc_redist installed will get a silent crash. I tried including VCLibs, but it didn't help. Correct me if I'm wrong, I think I need a way to force the DLL to use VCLibs instead of vc_redist, so when distributing through Microsoft Store, the dependency can be installed automatically.

I'm fully aware of that! The question is, what happens if AFTER my application got installed, ANOTHER installation (not controlled by me) only partially upgrades the C/C++/MFC runtime?

Another buggy setting would be:

• my app ships with the VS 2015 vc_redist
• some but not all dlls of VS 2017 vc_redist are already installed on the system

VCLIB dlls missing

Hi,

For the last 90 days, after a W10 update, it appeared 4 dlls caused an issue in the VCLibs directory. These 4 dll files preclude from opening apps (iTunes as an example).

I uninstalled the C++ redistributables and retrieved fresh installers, W11 update afterward. Not helpful.

Attached are screenshots of the culprits... any enlightening will be warmly welcomed.

Project Second screen constantly appearing.

Let us know some more information so that we can diagnose and troubleshoot the issue in a better way:

• what is the exact issue that you want us to help with? Do you want to get help in projecting a second screen or to remove the popup?
• As you've said " I tried unsuccessfully to project a screen", do you wish to project a second screen currently?
• What happened exactly when you tried to project a second screen? Did you receive any error message or any error code?

The popup comes as the system might not be able to detect the monitors. I suggest you to update the Display drivers, it may force the system to detect the available monitors. Here is the steps:

• Press “Windows + X” and select Device manger.
• Locate the driver and expand the driver icon.
• Right click on the driver icon and click on Update.
