  1. Force Uninstall Windows Updates BSOD Critical Process Died

    Greetings ~

I have been dealing with blue screens and shutdowns for a while. Today, after dealing with a useless Microsoft Support Rep who seemed to only want to tell me that it was not a Windows issue, I decided to run through options while in Safe Mode. While I was poking around, I found some Windows updates specifics below which were installed in early January 2020 and hadn’t previously appeared on the Installed Updates menu. I would like to uninstall them, however; whether I’m in Safe Mode, WinRe Environment or logged in normally; there is no option to Uninstall when I highlight the updates in the Installed Updates list.

Here’s my question: How do I force the uninstall so I will be able to determine whether these updates are causing the problems I’ve been having with Windows for the last 6 weeks?

    UPDATES TO BE UNINSTALLED:

    • Feature Update to Windows 10 Version 1909 via Enablement Package KB4517245
    • Update for Microsoft Windows KB4528760
    • Update for Microsoft Windows KB4532938
    • Update for Microsoft Windows KB4513661
    • Security update for Microsoft Windows KB4528759
    • Security Update for Adobe Flash Player

Below is information about solutions and procedures I’ve tried on my own to deal with the evil BSODs:

My tale of woe began with a Critical Process Died BSOD on January 10, 2020. After several subsequent BSODs, I tried a number of ways to deal with the issues on my own and then, once I’d come to the outer limit of my computer expertise, I spent a few hours online with Annie, a Microsoft Rep, on 03.01. We went through the reinstall of Windows 10. After several tries, it looked like we were successful but shortly after we ended our chat, I ended up with another BSOD Critical Process Died. Since then, I’ve attempted to reinstall Windows 10 several times, using different USB flash drives just in case it was the flash drive that was faulty as well as downloading the installation tool from two different laptops and either the installation was unsuccessful and I’d receive the blue screen before installation was complete or during setup with Cortana.

    I have attempted the following:

    • Uninstall Recent Updates
    • Restore System
    • Reset Computer
    • Startup Repair “Startup repair couldn’t repair your PC. Log file: C:\Windows\System32\Logfiles\Srt\SrtTrail.txt”
    • Restarting in Recovery Environment
    • Each time Windows tells me that the system is not able to complete the process or I end up with another BSOD. The BSOD errors I’ve received: CRITICAL PROCESS DIED; Your PC/Device needs to be repaired – Error Code 0xc000000f; KERNEL DATA INPAGE ERROR “What failed: intelppm.sys.

I have also done the following to confirm the issue is not hardware/hard disk related:

    • Optimized/updated drivers
    • Run the Device Manager to confirm that all drivers were running properly and updated the one that needed it
    • Run through the CMD: sfc /scannow scans and tests
    • Boot Menu Diagnostics
    • File Explorer/Properties C:/ Disk Error Checks and Optimization
    • Had Dell run through all of the hardware tests with me a second time to make sure I hadn’t missed any.

I’m fairly competent when it comes to this stuff but work far better when I have step by step instructions to follow.

Any assistance, advice, instructions, solutions or direction would be most appreciated.

    Thanks in advance!

    :)

  2. Critical process died BSoD loop

My alienware 17 R3 laptop apparently forced restart to update windows 10 earlier in the day and after the update finished it literally won't start up and is now stuck in Critical process died BSoD loop without me being able to enter safe mode.

Any attempt to entering safe mode results in another Critical process died blue screen and I've tried EVERYTHING that the net lists as a solution.

Tried going back to previous version of windows and it list an error, tried restoring from a previous point and it doesn't show up at all. Hell I tried a complete reset of the laptop and it gave me an error and said it cannot complete the process for god
    knows what reason.

This happened once on my older alienware 17 r3 and I had to get a replacement entirely due to the vendors not being able to decipher the root cause of the problem but one thing is for damn sure, everytime a windows 10 update happens my laptop potentially
    gets killed off...

Seriously, any suggestions? This is pretty frigging infuriating.
