Forcing Log Off with task manager

I have several windows 10 machines where people just "Lock" their systems but leave many programs up and running. I am trying to create a task in the task scheduler to "Log Off" the user even of their machine is locked but can not get it to work. It will only work if its left open but not LOCKED.. Any help?

    :)

@john, please do not VM or PM other members for help. In this case, I already got notification about your issue as @Bree mentioned me. Messaging about your issues does not help nor speed things up. If a member is willing to offer his / her assistance, they will reply as soon as they can, as they have time. This is a site based on voluntary work, things seldom happen immediately.

Having said that, following task settings would force computer to shut down as soon as it has been idle for one hour, also when locked. Click screenshots to expand.

This allows users to lock PC for instance for lunch and coffee breaks (less than one hour), but if they lock PC after the workday, and it will remain idle for one hour, computer will be forced to shut down (the -f switch in shutdown command in Task Actions).

Please notice: the built-in admin account must be enabled and have a password for this sample task to work.

Alternatively, you could use trigger On Workstation Lock, which would then practically disable Lock function, shutting down PC whenever user locks it:

I must apologize, I read your original post wrong. In Task Actions, the sample task forces the computer to shut down (shutdown -s -t 0 -f).

If you want to just log user off, use command shutdown -l -f instead.
