Windows 10: Forgot my password

HiI have an old laptop that i gave to someone to use for awhile and i recently received it back from them. When i came to the login screen i noticed the profile has changed and the password too. The person that borrowed it doesn't remember the password. I then tried to reset my windows with the holding down shift method and found no option to reset my pc. Any idea how i can go about fixing this without loosing data?

you know when you boot up your computer... and yeha i have more than one account and I forgot the password to one of them.

is there anyway for me to get in to the account? or the account will be perminant lock if i dont remember password?
