Windows 10: Forgot password after years of not using my windows laptop

I recently after years managed to turn on my windows laptop But I forgot the password so I attempted to use the security questions and even when I answered them correctly they still didn’t work then I attempted to factory reset the computer but I have a 32GB laptop and can’t even reset it to a blank slate and then I spent hours with my friend attempting to find ways to change or factory reset the entire computer I am completely stumped and we both don’t know what to do so I turned to this hopefully someone can find a solution to this because i cant

Forgot Windows 10 password...

So I fired up my laptop in order to use it to flash a router without mucking around with the rest of my networking... and I forgot the password to log in. Is there anything I can do short of reinstalling windows, or downloading a Linux LiveCD? (If I do have to download something, I'd prefer the file size to be as small as possible, because of evil data caps)
