Windows 10: Forgotten Password

HiLast week I downloaded a Windows update to clean up files etc. It said it would take awhile so I stepped away from the computer. When I returned, the facial recognition screen was flashing on and off and the red lights on each side of the camera were flashing. I restarted the computer and the facial recognition still has the flashing lights, says hi to me and then stops. It does not take me into the system like it used to. I have not used my actual password since I purchased it and neither I or my husband can remember it. I called HP thinking they could help me and they tried but they said
