Windows 10: Formating cds or dvds not working on win 11 computer works on win 10 computer help

Win 11 has no format choice on a right click. Disks format on a win 10 computer and then will run on the win 11 computer.

DVD/CD player not recognized ofter upgrade from Win 7 To Win 10 on Dell

After upgrading to Win 10 fro Win7, the DVD/CD drive (D drive on my computer ) does not work. Message states it cannot find device. Went to device manager and DVD/CD drive is not listed. Any help would be appreciated.

 

DVD not working properly after win 10 upgrade

I have the Win. DVD player which installed with the upgrade.

The device manager shows the DVD-RW. I tried to update the driver but it says I have the best driver and the unit is working properly. I got a message a couple of times that the directory name is invalid D:\ That is how the DVD is listed in the drives menu.

I can play CD's using Win. media player. The autoplay works fine for CD's. but it won't recognize any DVD that I insert. I was initially trying to load software. I later tried a movie. The disk spins but nothing happens.

I tried disabling the DVD. I restarted the computer and then enabled it again as someone suggested in another thread but that didn't work.

I upgraded to win 10 from win 7. When I put a cd\dvd in, nothing happens. I check device mgr. did upgrade drivers (came back with present driver works best). the device mgr & my computer both say theirs a dvd player installed. Yet win media player does
not even reconnize theirs a dvd\cd in the player. I tried vlc player, going to the dvd, it comes up with an error. The win 10 player, just keeps repeating "put a cd\dvd in plaer.

what to do?
