Windows 10: Fortnite won’t give access to microphone

I’ve never had this issue till recently. So what’s happening it’s that my microphone works on everything other than Fortnite I’ve emailed epic and have done all the solutions they have given me and they advised me to message Microsoft. As I’ve said it’s never been a problem for the years I’ve had a computer and would like some advice on what to do. Thanks

My Microphone isn't working on Fortnite

So, I got this PC recently, and when I tried to play Fortnite with the boys, my microphone wasn't working. I know it isn't a PC issue because I can use Discord just fine. I did notice that in the settings under the microphone access tab, Fortnite wasn't listed. It is like my PC doesn't recognize Fortnite as an installed game. I tried contacting Epic Games Support, I tried asking IT friends for help, and they can't help.

I am using Windows 11 btw

May I ask if you can see the name of the microphone under the sound Settings in Fortnite game? As far as I know, Fortnite's setup -- the audio output and input inside the sound -- allows you to manually specify the device. See if you can manually specify the computer's microphone.

In addition, you mentioned that the microphone access TAB does not list Fortnite, which seems to indicate that there is a problem with the installation of this game on your computer. Could you please confirm whether it was downloaded and installed through the platform of Epic game, or copied from the compressed package or other drives?

Microphone not working in fortnite

Hi I’m having issues with my chat in fortnite all of a sudden.

It works fine on Xbox party chat and I can see the bar move when I test it in windows.

My headset is set as the default on both input and output.

I’ve deleted the driver and reinstalled.

I’ve done all my updates I even reset my pc and re downloaded my games.

The only thing I could find is in the microphone privacy permissions where I have given permission to all apps but I can’t see epic games or fortnite on the list I can see all my non epic games games on the list.

I guess I need to manually give epic games permission maybe.
