Last week, Microsoft released Forza Horizon 4 Demo for Windows 10 and Xbox One. So far, Microsoft & Playground Games have been quite successful with the game and have received a lot of appreciation from the fans.

In Forza Horizon 4, Microsoft has been pushing some of the highlight features of the game like the dynamic seasons, etc. However, there are yet some hidden delights that may bring a smile to a lot of Windows XP fans.

Forza Horizon 4 has a car customization option where you could personalize your car for your own taste. Here, you have an option to change car horns as well. But here’s the fun part – among the gazillion horn sounds to choose from, there’s also the iconic Windows XP “shutdown” horn sound.

Pretty cool, right?

This rather came out of nowhere. Having the Windows XP “shutdown” sound as their car’s horn is quite ludicrous but many of the Windows XP fans are going to love it.

Forza Horizon 4 is set to launch on 2nd of October for both Xbox One and Windows 10 PC.

Today, during the Xbox E3 2018 briefing, we showed how seasons change everything in the worldwide debut of Forza Horizon 4, the latest entry in the award-winning Forza Horizon series. This highly anticipated follow-up to 2016’s breakout hit Forza Horizon 3 brings players dynamic seasons in a shared open-world that change every week. Experience beautiful, historic Britain in spectacular native 4K and HDR, collect over 450 cars, and become a Horizon Superstar. Forza Horizon 4 will launch worldwide on Xbox One, Windows 10 and Xbox Game Pass on October 2, 2018 as an Xbox Play Anywhere title.

The Forza franchise has a strong history of featuring industry-leading cars and Forza Horizon 4’s British automotive cover cars are no exception – the McLaren Senna and the 1997 Land Rover Defender 90. In celebration of our long-term partnership with McLaren, the McLaren Senna will make its North American debut in our Mixer booth, located in the South Hall of the Los Angeles Convention Center during a Mixer live stream on Tuesday, June 12 at 11 a.m. PDT and displayed for E3 attendees throughout the week. E3 attendees can also take the Senna for a test drive in Forza Horizon 4 at the Microsoft Theater.

We’re proud to introduce two of our most fan-requested features – a brand new Route Creator that lets you design and share your own custom race routes anywhere in the open world and the option to play at 60 frames per second for players on Xbox One X.

Meet the Forza Horizon 4 Cover Cars

Appearing on the cover of Forza Horizon 4 is the McLaren Senna – named for legendary Formula 1 driver, Ayrton Senna – which will make its North American debut via Mixer on June 12 at E3. Designed to personify the McLaren vision at its most extreme, the Senna delivers an intense driving experience dedicated to creating the most personal connection possible between car and driver. We are thrilled to continue our partnership with McLaren and look forward to sharing more about how we’re working with McLaren to merge the automotive and gaming industries.

Also joining the McLaren Senna on the cover of Forza Horizon 4 is the 1997 Land Rover Defender 90, a four-wheel driving experience specifically designed for exciting off-road adventures. Leaving the Australian outback behind for the roads of Britain, Forza Horizon 4 picks up where its predecessor left off by continuing to redefine what to expect from open-world racing games. Now with a shared, synchronized world where time of day, weather, and seasons will change at the same time for everyone. Players will be challenged to explore a shifting landscape through muddy, icy, wet, and dry conditions with new and unique themed content and challenges as each of the four seasons change every week.

At this year’s E3 2018, I had a chance to get some hands-on time with the latest build of Forza Horizon 4 that showcased each of the game’s seasons in bite-size chunks: the crisp roadways of Autumn, the snow-covered hills of Winter, the slippery off-road tracks of Spring, and the clean roads and high speeds of Summer.

The great part of a feature-filled demo experience like this is that you can immediately get a sense for each vehicle’s controls, how they vary, and how each of the seasons will affect a car’s performance, either by expertly sliding by a rival across a frozen lake in the Winter in the RJ Anderson off-road race truck, or slinging mud through mountain backroads in a rallycross-spec Ford Fiesta, which also showed off one of the game’s signature showcases where a motocross stunt team jumped around me ala “Mad Max: Fury Road” as we bounded through the mud-soaked forests.

The demo also features four challenges for E3 attendees to complete, again giving a small sample size for some of the activities that are in store in Forza Horizon 4: setting a top speed in a Speed Trap, accomplishing a successful top-3 position, landing a big air jump, and then winning an outright sprint to the finish line. All this action was contained in one small section of the larger world map; it just felt that much larger as the seasons contributed to making the areas feel and drive that much more unique.

The real star of the show is the game debut of the 2018 McLaren Senna, revealed yesterday during the Xbox E3 2018 briefing and can be seen in-person during its North American debut at the Mixer booth in the Los Angeles Convention Center during E3.

The immediate sense of speed of the Senna in-game is impressive – at times it felt like I was hanging on for dear life — as I weaved in-between pedestrian cars (and sheep) along the British countryside and, naturally, busting through stone dykes as I understeered a tight turn on the roadway. Like previous entries in the series, much of the environment in Forza Horizon 4 is destructible. It won’t stop you dead in your tracks but will impact your speed and vehicle performance when you do run into fences, walls, and shrubbery. And no, you can’t hit the sheep. We tried.

A lot of the series mainstays will return in Forza Horizon 4, like car collection and customization featuring over 450 vehicles from more than 100 manufactures, playing alone or joining in multiplayer races, and open-world freedom to drive and go where you want. New for Forza Horizon 4 will be a robust set of character customization options for clothing, accessories, and emotes.

While not shown during this demo, some of the newer features coming this year besides the impressive Seasons feature will be the option to create your own racing routes with the Route Creator to share to the larger Forza community, and Xbox One X players will have the option to play the game in native 4K at 30fps, or play in 60fps at a lower resolution.

With a historic location like Britain to explore, a variety of seasons to challenge our racing aptitude, and new open-world challenges, there’s a lot to look forward to in Forza Horizon 4. Forza Horizon 3 Windows 10 demo now available

Windows 10 players can now get a taste of the epic automotive adventure that is Forza Horizon 3 with the launch of the Windows 10 demo of Forza Horizon 3. Starting today, the Forza Horizon 3 Windows 10 PC demo is available in the Windows Store for no additional charge.

In Forza Horizon 3, you’re the boss of the Horizon Festival – the biggest and best cars and music festival in the world. Your goal is to expand the festival to new locations throughout Australia and you’ll get your first taste of what that experience is like in the demo. Along the way, you’ll be able to explore a portion of Forza Horizon 3’s map, while taking a guided tour through some of the best features that the game has to offer.

Your tour Down Under begins in classic Horizon fashion – with beautiful scenery, great driving roads, and awesome vehicles. From the moment the action begins, you are unmistakably in Australia, with all of its awe-inspiring beauty and tremendous environmental diversity. You’ll blast along ocean-side roads, and race on the beach alongside the famed Twelve Apostles landmarks. You’ll grab ludicrous air off of Danger Sign jumps buried deep in the Australian rainforests, and have a chance to get sideways through Drift Zones in Byron Bay. Once you’ve finished all the events in the demo, you’ll be able to hop online and join your fellow Forza friends in an online free-roam session to explore the demo’s map together.

Xbox One Demo in HDR

In addition to the release of the Forza Horizon 3 demo for Windows 10 PC, today we are releasing an update for the Forza Horizon 3 Xbox One demo. This update will add HDR support to the demo, giving players on Xbox One S (and viewing on an HDR display) the ability to experience the fun and beauty of the Forza Horizon 3 demo in all its HDR glory.
