Windows 10: Found SOLUTION to the 0x80888002 error code on attempting to install 22H2 upgrade on windows.

After days of attempting to install the latest update 22H2 and having it stall at 8%, I found this solution posted by Tekkie Boy an Insider.Run this command in an command prompt as admin:reg delete "HKLM\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\Image File Execution Options\vdsldr.exe" /fEdit 10/06/2022If this command does not fix the error, then run the following command in the command prompt as admin:wmic /namespace:"\\root\subscription" path __EventFilter where

How to get the Windows 10 2022 Update version 22H2 Win Update

If you can't install it from windows update you can try to install it manually, it's the same KB5015684 obtained with windows update.

0x80888002 on updating to Windows 11 22H2

I'm unable to update to Windows 11 22H2 due to something misconfigured in my system that I haven't been able to track down.

I have tried:

- Windows Troubleshooter (continuously reports an issue, but says that WaaSMedicService has resolved it; the details show this:

- Resetting Windows Update components

- Rebooting, trying the .iso instead of Windows Update, trying various "bypass" methods to install Win11 regardless of health status, etc. Note that the PC Health Check says that my system is compatible with 22H2 (I have TPM enabled, etc etc).
