    Found StartMenuExperienceHost.exe in many many places on my Windows Version 10.0.18363...


    Alleged Win10 "gurus" online say the StartMenuExperienceHost.exe process "is loaded from C:\Windows\SystemApps\Microsoft.Windows.StartMenuExperienceHost_cw5n1h2txyewy.It is not a legitimate process if the file resides in any other location on the device." Is this true? And if so, how to I clean up all other instances of the file??

    What is StartMenuExperienceHost.exe

    Hello,

    AFAIK, StartMenuExperienceHost.exe is separate process for Start Menu and is an integral part of Windows 10. In earlier versions of Windows 10, Start Menu used Windows Shell Experience Host (ShellExperienceHost.exe). However, to improve
    the performance of Start Menu, StartMenuExperienceHost.exe was introduced.

    To know the version of Windows 10 and build number, I would suggest you to follow these steps:

    • Press Windows key + R on the keyboard.
    • Type "winver" without quotes and press Enter.
    • You'll see the information related to Windows 10 version and build number.

    Found StartMenuExperienceHost.exe in many many places on my Windows Version 10.0.18363...

    Many many blue screens...

    I have Low, Normal or High. I tried it on High, but it stopped my computer from booting altogether, telling me that windows files were corrupt. Wouldn't let me boot my Vista CD either. So I pushed it back to Normal and it boots fine.

    As for those timing settings, I can't find the appropriate spots to put them, unless their names are just different in my BIOS. I have a 'CAS Latency' field, so I can stick '4' in there no problems. The other fields I have and their possible values are:
