Windows 10: Found suspicious new user on my computer

    Found suspicious new user on my computer


    When I was signing in one day, I spotted a new user on my lock screen. I got rid of that user in settings, but another day it came back!! I started to get suspicious that my computer was infected but I got rid of that thought when I scanned my computer with Norton power eraser.

    Does anyone know what happened?

    The other reason I suggested this is that users can add characters to their username that are not alphanumeric (e.g. user*). This confuses things somewhat when looking at the list.

    • Which troubleshooting steps are you referring to?
    • Have you installed all pending Windows updates?

    I would suggest you to delete all the user account apart from the one which you are able to log in with Admin rights. Install all pending Windows and driver updates.
    Updates are additions to software that can help prevent or fix problems, improve how your computer works, or enhance your computing experience. Follow the steps below to create new user account and check if that helps.

    • Press “Windows Key + R".
    • Type “netplwiz”.
    • Click on Add and follow the onscreen instructions.

    • Did you use the same Microsoft account to setup user account on this computer?
    I would suggest you to create a new local user account using the below steps

    Steps:


    • From the desktop press Windows flag key + R

    • And type netplwiz and click ok.
    This will open user account window click add and follow the onscreen instruction to create a new local account.

    Reply with the status of the issue and we will be glad to offer our assistance.
