Windows 10: Found unknown user on PC after installing Windows 10 on VMware Workstation.

Hi there, as said in the title, I have installed Windows 10 on the VMware Workstation, and I just found an unknown user while checking the Properties for the application. I'm worried that someone might've entered my PC remotely and might be currently spying on me.Below here is a screenshot of the user name and its permissions.

I found two unknown user on my pc

I am using Windows 11 Home Single Language and I have installed Ubuntu on VMware workstation.

I recently found two unknown users named Account Unknown(S-1-5-21-1817899009-3090463667-2689442307) and Account Unknown(S-1-5-21-1817899009-3090463667-2689442307-1001) on my laptop. Do these two unknown users mean that my PC is hacked or it is there because of the Ubuntu in VMware?

 

Upgrade to Windows 10 asking to uninstlal VMware Workstation

Thank you for writing to Microsoft Community Forums.



I understand that you are facing issues while updating your PC to Windows 10 as it is asking to uninstall VMware Workstation on your PC.



Ideally, during the upgrade if any application is incompatible with Windows 10 then the setup will ask you to remove the application in order to complete the installation without any errors.



However, during my research I found that if you are using VMware 15.1 or above then you can successfully upgrade to Windows 10. You may want to try updating the version of VMware Workstation installed on the PC and then see if you are able to complete
the upgrade.



The updated version of VMware Workstation is available on the
VMware website
