FPS capped to 60 when unplugged Laptop: HP pavilion 14 ce3007ne

Whenever I try to play any game on my laptop and its unplugged. The frame rate is capped to 60fps. When I plug the battery in it goes upto the capped amount I set it as 120fps Now I know that I've got a 60 hz screen and wont notice the difference and that may be true but supposingly if I entered an area which is resource demanding my fps should fall from 120-90 so that I wont notice the difference. However its stuck at 60fps even when I uncapped it in-game to 120fps or unlimited fps option minecraft and GTA 5. I uncapped the fps in-game and in NVIDIA Control panel I have the fps capped to

    :)

  2. Game FPS capped at 60

Assuming you don't have Vsync enabled, and assuming Geforce experience or something has not upped your in game graphic settings, check game mode to ensure you aren't recording in the background.

You aren't talking about FPS while Game DVR (recording in the background) is enabled, right? Note in that scenario , video FPS are default 30, max 60 as "high quality video capture may impact the quality of your game".

  3. 60 FPS cap in fullscreen mode.

    Hello,

After buying a new pc, installing windows 10 and trying some games I noticed that in fullscreen mode the fps are always capped at 60 fps, but in windowed mode it gets unlocked, this is clearly a Windows issue because let me point out some stuff:

-It's not a driver issue, or a setting in the control panel or the game, as V-sync is off

-The computer runs the game at 255 fps in windowed mode, it's not that it can't get more than 60 fps

-Xbox app, Game bar, Fullscreen optimization are all turned off

So please if any of you knows a solution to this issue, post it as this is frustrating.

    Fps is capped

Apparently there is a problem with my xbox app, for some odd reason my fps is capped at 60. I've turned off vsync in NVidia but I still get 60 fps. I searched on google to try to fix this problem but they all say to turn off gamedvr on xbox but I cant do
that because my xbox gamedvr settings look like this. I need help to remove the 60 fps cap. Thanks
