Windows 10: FPS programs no longer working in Win 10, not xgamebar related.

I'm new to win 10 and used FRAPS for years but it doesn't work with dx12 games. So after getting a few suggestions from the forums I tried Bandicam first. It was working fine and for about a week.

I thought maybe there was a trail period but I was only using FPS counter. I couldn't get it working so I tried MSI Afterburner. Noticed I only seem to need Rivatuner not Afterburner (uninstalled it).

It's not working either, and I'm not talking about just dx12 games. FPS is not working on any game.

I mentioned not xboxgamebar, disabled it from the beginning of win 10 install and disabled it in Services. So when the FPS was working it was working with it completely disabled.

Is there anything that would prevent FPS from registering in win 10? This PC only has a 6 gig nvidia card but it works with dx12. No idea if the nvidia control panel could disable something to prevent FPS from showing up. I never use that panel but did open it once.

Hope this is enough to go on, and thanks for any tips.

access BIOS settings in Win 10

I have an 8-year old computer running Win 10. I need to access the BIOS settings. It used to be the holding down the F2 key during startup would bring up the BIOS screen in Windows computers. But this no longer works. A web article listed a complicated
series of steps leading to a reboot . . . but still no access to BIOS. Any suggestions?

 

Programs no longer supported on Win-10

I really hate to ask this, not expecting an answer, I’ll ask this question anyway.



I understand that there are a number of files/programs from late Win-7 and some versions of Win-10 are no

longer supported/recommended. Is there a file or a location of all these programs and where can it be accessed ?



Also curious to know that if these programs are no longer supported, then WHY still recommended and is

the information still available on WIN-10 ? NO Examples....just a VERY CURIOUS question.

 

Why did the startup window get cleared?

I didn't missed any step, the list was gone and gone , even after using lot of programs the programs were not listed in that list.
