This is an incredibly exciting time for Minecraft. Ten years ago today, the game launched on PC. Now, Minecraft has sold more than 176 million copies to-date in virtually every country in the world. As a way to celebrate 10 years for the franchise, we announced today a brand-new Minecraft game – Minecraft Earth.

Minecraft Earth is an all new free-to-play augmented reality game for mobile that will bring the creative nature of Minecraft to the real world.

The game’s mechanics are simple: explore your neighborhood to find blocks and unique mobs for your builds. Once you have them, any flat surface is an opportunity to build. Team up with friends to create amazing builds on Build Plates, and then place them in the real world to explore at life-size. You can even put your survival skills to the test and battle mobs IRL! Craft new items, breed mobs, grow crops –it’s Minecraft as you know it in a way you’ve never seen before. There’s endless fun to be had and it’s even better with friends.

The game blends state-of-the-art Microsoft technology like Azure Spatial Anchors AR tracking and PlayFab integration to bring the Minecraft Earth experience to life.

Did you make any changes to the PC prior to this issue?

When you say “can't play with friends online”, do you get any error message?

Having same problem connecting to friends worlds. The only one working is on Realms....frustrating. Before Realms we could connect most times but since it was opened no other worlds are connecting. We can sometimes connect to new friends worlds on Minecraft,
which is odd.

Mixer mobile broadcasting, directly in Minecraft

When we launched Mixer Create on Android and iOS last month, we loved seeing the reaction from our community around the simplicity of mobile broadcasting. We’re now excited to bring the familiar Mixer Create experience directly into Minecraft, making it easier to start and manage a Mixer broadcast while you play. You’ll start to see this feature today in the Minecraft 1.2.5 beta on Android; iOS will come once 1.2.5 exits beta.

Mixer interactivity in Minecraft

Our Interactive 2.0 platform enables any game developer to add Mixer interactivity to their game with just a few lines of code; creating unique steaming experiences where viewers have actual impact on the gameplay. With Mixer Interactivity in Minecraft, any Minecraft command can be turned into an interactive button that viewers can use to change your game. Plus, with Mixer’s Faster Than Light (FTL) streaming protocol, you’ll be able to watch and play with less than a second of latency. Starting today, you’ll be able to try out interactivity in the Minecraft 1.2.5 beta on Android and Windows 10. Xbox One will come later this week, and then all versions of Minecraft will get the feature once it exits beta. Also, for Java fans, a separate mod will be coming later this year, as well.
