do we know who long to expect the free upgrade to windows 10 from windows 8? will it be 29th?

Free upgrade is not free

I've never seen any problems with transferring installed Office or subscription Office 365 even with my tutorial to

Clean Reinstall Windows 7 which has been used by 1.7 million consumers. This may be due to mishandling by Support.

For this reason I would post your concern directly in the Office 365 Community forum where there should be volunteer experts to help you:

Probably due to it's title, moderators instead channeled it to Installation (in which I specialize). I'm sorry I was not able to help you. Here's hoping they will help you there better there.

 

The upgrades Start on the 29th. Depending on your hardware, where you're from, and a few other factors, it could be days, weeks or even a few months before you receive the OK to install the upgrade.

 

Generally it will be Insider program members first, then people who've made a reservation. It's too late to be an Insider, but you can reserve your copy by clicking on the Windows icon in your taskbar on Windows 7 or 8.1.
