Windows 10: Free upgraded PC activation and license

I have a old pc that I upgraded to windows 10 during free upgrade period. If I give my pc to a friend or family member, will the windows 10 license still be valid as it is digitally linked to my Microsoft account?

How to activate Windows 10 after upgrading the PC?

As I mentioned in the previous post, if you have product key with a genuine copy of previous Windows version, I suggest you to use the same to activate Windows 10 copy on your computer.



Follow the steps below to check if the Product key is available on your PC.

• Press Windows logo + X keys on the keyboard and select
  Control panel from the context menu.
• Select Large icons from the view by option located at the top left corner of the window and select
  System.
• From the window under Windows activation, note down the product key displayed in-front of
  Product ID.
• Use the Product ID to activate Windows 10.

Windows 10 upgrade license

The interesting question is that: the upgrade takes place before 29 of July. If I upgrade the PC (change the MB), and I transfer the Win 8.1 license to this new PC (cause 8.1 is retail FPP), will I be able to upgrade to Windows 10 for free? Or a upgrade license must be bought?
