Windows 10: Free VPN just for 2 week trip to Eastern Europe?

In May I'm going on a trip to various Eastern European countries, and I'm concerned about security for basics like checking email with Outlook or going to my bank's website. I don't need high performance, and I'm not trying to conceal my destinations, I just want an encrypted data pipe out of my hotel room to somewhere in my home country.
That all said, if I need to pay for one month to get a decent service, I will. I don't want to be a fanatic about, "It's gotta be free."

A nice extra would be if I could use this VPN for my iPhone as well as for Windows.
