Windows 10: Freezes in game, slow rebbot, sometimes BSOD, sound issues.

Hi,


I've been having issues for the past 3 to 4 weeks, it started when a game Epic portaln World War Z froze and I had to reboot. This has been happening more and more over the weeks. Work side of the PC is fine.


I looked at the Event viewer and each time it has been a different program trying to communicate with the internet, no response and so it stopped working. It started with Oculus and then Origin neither I use now, so removed. It is also saying Razr and Asus mouse and m-board not receiving comms and so crashed.


I have checked the updates and rolled back the patches KB453996 and KB4541335. Optional update 1909 was not installed.

Still the freezing happened on the above game and the slowness was apparent.


I then reinstalled kept files and programmes Windows 10. All updates, bar 1909, installed. Still the issue.


So I installed 1909....thankfully nothing like what fellow users have got from this patch, but still the game is freezing.


I have saved the dump file although this will probably be different from the next one that will be generated and need some help!

Game Bar freezes Computer

To understand the issue better please provide us more information.

  What is the model number of the computer?
  
• 
  Which game are you trying to play?
  
• Try playing other games and check what the status is.

Let’s try simple troubleshooting steps and check if this helps in resolving the issue. Follow the below methods.

Method 1

I recommend you to uninstall/reinstall the display driver and check. Follow the below steps:

• 
  Press Windows key + X and click on
  Device manager.
  
• 
  Locate for display adapter and click on it to expand.
  
• 
  Right click on the device and click on
  uninstall.
  
• 
  Once you are done uninstalling the driver, restart the computer. It will automatically install the generic display driver.
  

If this doesn’t help to fix the issue. I suggest you to update the display driver. Skip step3 from the above steps and right click on the
device and click on update.

Method 2.

If the above method did not help to fix the issue, I would suggest you to
go to the computer manufacturer website and download the latest display adapter driver. Visit the below link:

Method 3.

For the sound issue try the below steps.

Step 1.

I suggest you to uninstall/reinstall the sound adapter driver and check.

  Press Windows key + X and select
  Device manager.
  
• 
  Now click on Sound, video and game controllers
  to expand, right click on the device and click on uninstall.
  
• 
  Once you are done installing the driver, restart the computer. It will automatically install the sound adapter driver.
  

If the issue still persist, try the below steps.

Step 2.

I suggest you to update the audio driver and check.

• 
  Press Windows key + X and select
  Device manager.
  
• Now click on Sound, video and game controllers and right click on it and
  update the software.

all games crash!

ive watch my temps and both the cpu and gpu are within normal ranges. when it freezes it simply freezes the image and stops the sound. i must reboot to get back to windows.
