Windows 10: Frequent BSOD crashes, WHEA correctable errors, and reboots.

Hi, I've been dealing with frequent crashes and reboots for a while now. I've set overclocks to stock, updated and downgraded various drivers, and uninstalled hardware with little success. I have some dump files for the BSOD crashes but now I've been getting strange non BSOD reboots where the pc just shuts off and boots back to the lock screen immediately. I have dug around in event viewer but cannot find a pattern pointing to a specific problem and I am not fluent in reading dump files. It does seem, however, that I have fewer BSOD errors when I brought my CPU clocks down to stock. Oddly enou

Bsod - whea uncorrectable error

Thanks for the reply! I forgot to mention that I did test the CPU using the Intel tool and it checked out fine. I also installed the latest BIOS for my motherboard and it was still BSODing. However, I also found this post: BSOD playing CSGO, whea uncorrectable error

I tried the suggestion made by BSODHunter to repair the image using DISM and SFC. Errors were found and corrected. For the moment my computer seems to be stable! Though I have not yet tried to really stress the hardware yet. I will try that later tonight and advise!

 

PC reboots (no BSOD) on CPU stress

Hi fellow TPU members,

not too long ago, the box my gf's PC was transported in gave way on the stairs. Yes, you got it right, that sent a PC tumbling down a flight of steps alright.

Stuff broke. Also, stuff remained intact somehow.

I bought her a new case, new CPU cooler and we removed the floppy drive, so far so good. But the PC started crashing for no apparent reason, without a BSOD.

I tested:

• Memtest86+, left overnight, 0 errors
• Scanned the HDD for errors, nothing there
• Left FurMark burning up the GFX card and drawing some power, no problems there
• Ran Ubuntu from a Live CD doing nothing special, didn't crash
• Ran OCCT, Linpack, Prime95, all 3 caused reboots within minutes
• Oh, and I disabled "Restart on error" so I'm sure it's not a BSOD.

Now, I can still try and test something CPU intensive on Ubuntu, but my guess is the CPU didn't survive.
Before I do anything drastic like whippin' out the magic wallet and get her a new AMD quad, is there anything I didn't see?
I'm guessing the motherboard could be borkered as well, but can I check that other than replacing the CPU with a working one?
Any suggestions on which proggies I can use from an Ubuntu Live CD to stress the CPU?

 

Frequent BSOD Crashing. Help please.


Hey guys. For the past few days I've been getting frequent BSOD crashes with various errors. Some of the ones I've noticed are: Attempted execute of noexecute memory, cache manager, irql not less or equal, watchdog violation, system service exception (klif.sys), kmode exception not handled, system thread exception not handled (fltmgr.sys), avpui.exe error, and whea uncorrectable error.
This may or may not be related but I've been crashing in video games as well (mostly Dark Souls 3), and some of the crashes from the game result in a BSOD with one of the above errors.
I've attached the dm_log_collector zip for you guys to look at. I included the CBS.log file also, because there was an error with that. Any and all help is appreciated.
