The prompt says the "restore operation" was completed successfully, then in the next line it says the "operation" was completed successfully.

Good. See if that makes it run any better. Next please right click on the start icon and select Command prompt administrator, give admin permissions and copy/paste this into the window that opens and press enter sfc /scannow . If you decide to type it in, please notice the space between the sfc and the /. We want it to say no integrity violations were found. If it says there where corrupt files that could not be repaired, please reboot and run it again. You may have to run it 3 times with reboots in between each time.

It appears the problem has gotten worse, looking at about 5 minutes between crashes while playing MMOs and the occasional crash while not gaming. Non-MMOs appear to be crashing as often as previously.

You mentioned that it is probably due to my motherboard lacking the proper drivers for Windows 10. Would it be possible to downgrade to Windows 7 without having to wipe my hard drive?

Also, out of curiosity, could a bottleneck on the hard disk cause these issues by chance?

  5. I got impatient and kinda fed up with the crashes, so i backdated to windows 7 and somehow did not lose all of my data, since then the computer has been running flawlessly and also with better framerate.

Thanks for all your help, i'll update my motherboard ASAP, until then its Windows 7 for me *Smile

Sorry we couldn't figure it out or find the right drivers for you. But, I am happy you have it running without crashes again.
