    @groze
    Just what are you even talking about?? What I was saying is that when MS is developing a single OS core for Win10 they will just have one core of code to update/modify and test. And by having that the cost will go way down. From my experience it's far easier to change code in one program than say ten.

    And what "laws" are you talking about?? Site some stuff or links to back up what you're claiming.

    And I didn't say that MS would drop support of Win7 or Win8.1 sooner.. if I did point out where I did.

    Gee..

    The question I have regards a fresh re-install, I understand that I will have to upgrade my existing instillation first okay I do that, now like a lot of people I want to do a fresh install my question is, where do I get the DVD to do that, will there be a burnable windows 10 iso available ?

    I never said Microsoft violated the laws. I know Microsoft would never intentionally break a law.

    The thought is you/we will be able to download or create an ISO from the ESD that's used for the upgrade process.

    @Bunny (Jeff)

    I corrected my other posting and as I said before I know Microsoft would never intentionally break a law. Do I need to start using the word hypothetical when describing a scenario that may not happen? If you also paid attention, I also used the word "IF" that the same as hypothetical in my book.

    Oh great.. I did pay attention. You read way too much into my post about cost saving via code reduction. And I still have no clue what your response had anything to do with what I said.

    Could you please try to explain that??

    I have seen Newegg advertise DVDs with just the media, but without product key. They run in the range of $10.00 to $15.00, I think. Also, there will be ISOs to download, I'm sure.

    You can expect both to be available, since Microsoft has said we can reinstall as many times as we want to.

    Groze, I'm going to insert Jeffrys' post here, since what you've said above doesn't make much sense without it.

    What Jeff has said here would not constitute "bait and switch" even if Microsoft were to change Windows 10 to subscription. There is something called a "Grandfather Clause" that would allow everyone who already had Windows 10 to retain their status quo. And, since Microsoft has already advertised (to us in blogs) Windows 10 as a free upgrade . . . no bait and switch that I can see.

    I think when you say that Microsoft could get in trouble with some of our laws in the US, you need to cite your source. If you cannot produce a source, you need to be careful when saying that something is or is not lawful. Just because you put a "disclaimer" in doesn't mean you aren't liable to a lawsuit yourself.

    There isn't a "bait and switch law" per se that I can find; here's what Wikipedia has to say:

    Believe me, Microsoft has its collective butt covered by its legal department.

    I edited my post even more. Now it is an opinion.

    How should I word my post to Jeffrys' to get my point across?
