Fresh install of Windows 10 64bit and now getting BSOD.

    Hi,

So I upgraded my system. Bought a new motherboard, CPU, CPU Cooler, RAM, PSU & SSD.

Installed windows 10, worked fine for the first week.

Now when I start my PC in the morning or from when I get in from work, I get a BSOD when the PC Boots first time.

When it restarts, it loads windows fine without issues.

I've never had a BSOD happen while in the O/S, however did once have a funky issue where once it loaded my desktop, it started to flicker, as if Explorer.exe was continuously restarting (On this occasion, I held the hard reset button in and once restarted was fine)

    Not sure cause...

    I am running:

    Windows 10 64bit,
    Intel Core i7-4790K 4.0GHz Quad-Core Processor
    MSI Z97-GAMING 5 ATX LGA1150 Motherboard
    Corsair Vengeance Pro 16GB (2 x 8GB) DDR3-1866 Memory
    4GB ASUS GTX670 DIRECT CU2
    750watt Corsair PSU
(The only 'old' thing is my GFX Card, which I bought in 2012).

    Any help much appreciated.

    Regards,

    .

    :)

    Hi Axe0,

Many thanks for your help with my issue.

It seems, since my last post- My issue has been fixed! I disabled the fastboot as suggested, and haven't had a single BSOD since doing so!

I'm over joyed, that something so annoying was fixed as simply as that!

Still curious as to why it'd cause the BSOD's though.. considering, Microsoft have it enabled by default?

Anyhow, just wanted to say a MASSIVE thank you for all your help! It's very appreciated! *Biggrin

    Marking this as solved now!

It is turned on by default yes, the reason is a faster boot.
However, sometimes it doesn't save the image of Windows and drivers proper what causes problems.
In case you missed it, below is an image displaying how it works.

Glad to hear your problem is solved *Smile
