Windows 10: Fresh install on new hdd.

power went down on my old laptop with new hdd while in middle of windows10 install, tried to start install after sorting out power supply but it gets to second window and get message about restart and system exception not handled. What can i do to rectify the problem?

Hi folks,

I recently starting receiving a HDD error when booting suggesting my hard drive was due to fail.

Trying to be proactive I purchased and installed a new HDD with more storage than original. Initially my goal was to clone the source drive to the new HDD using Macrium to prevent having to re-install anything. That said, I was not able to clone as errors
would prevent the clone from completing. I am assuming that is related to the issues with the original source drive.

Where do I go from here if I am looking to install the contents of the source drive to the new drive?

Can I create a boot disk and install Windows 10 on new drive? And then copy entire contents of old drive to new drive?

Fresh Install of Windows 10 Home in new SSD

I have this Dell N4010 Laptop that I want to upgrade with an SSD and use the existing HDD as Data drive. I have an original windows of digital license.

Please suggest how I can install a fresh copy of the windows in my new SSD with the existing license. And please suggest how to activate the new installation of Windows.
