Is it possible to install Windows 10 so when you boot it up the person can register with their credentials? I'm thinking it's just a normal install but wasn't sure if there was anything special?

    Thanks

    :)

You cannot clean install during the upgrade. Clean installs require a custom install (format) and you can only clean install after the hardware has been registered and the qualifying OS validated with the windows store. After that you can
do a clean install when ever you like from the ISO that will be available on or about July 29

Do you mean boot up, and sign in with username and password? Or a PIN? That's perfectly normal.

The Welcome Screen? I'm not quite following you. If there is only one user, and it's not configured to auto-signon, then the Welcome Screen is displayed and asks for a password or PIN. If multiple users on the same machine, all are listed at lower left to chose from. The last one who signed on is the one that defaults for display to sign on, but can be changed from the ones at lower left. Is this what you mean?

You might be talking about two different scenarios. Are you talking about setting up a brand new install and then leaving it in the condition where the new user will start the computer and go through the setup steps - like a brand new computer purchased from a retail manufacturer?

If so, run setup like you normally would. When you get to the first screen where it starts asking you location and language, don't set up anything. Instead press CTRL + SHIFT + F3. That will log you in in audit mode (as the built-in administrator account). There you can do updates, install software, install drivers, etc. Once you have it all set up, then you select the option on the sysprep screen that automatically pops up to restart in OOBE mode, and select the shutdown option. When the computer shuts down it will erase the administrator account you were temporarily logged into (including WiFi passwords). The next time it starts it will be like a brand new, out of the box retail computer, except all the software, drivers and updates you installed will still be there. If you have to reboot when setting it up initially, just reboot the compute in the normal way (don't do anything with the sysprep window, just ignore it). It will reboot back into audit mode until you use the sysprep window to shut it down.

If you want the next user of a computer already set up to start at the "oobe" screen where they select language, some setup options, and create a new administrator account, then run C:\Windows\System32\Sysprep\Sysprep.exe. Set the top choice for the OOBE experience, leave the generalize box unchecked, and the bottom option to shutdown. When the computer shuts down, all existing user accounts will remain intact, but the next user at startup will be presented with the out of box welcome experience. They will not be able to log into any existing accounts, they must create a new one, and the account they create will have administrator privileges.

There might be a group policy setting to allow a user to create a new account at the normal login screen, I am not sure.
