Windows 10: Fresh Win10 installation, single program has weird typing lag

New computer, completely fresh Windows 10 Pro installation. Everything seems to be working flawlessly...except ONE program, which seems to be having weird lag issues with typing. Whenever I start typing in one of the text boxes, the typing lags and stutters horribly. No other program has done this at all.

It's just a basic IM program for a specific site, and it never had any issues on my previous computer, but on this new one, it's having this weird typing lag. I've tried using different keyboards, moving the program's folder to a different hard drive, etc. but nothing seems to fix the typing lag.

Any idea what's going on?

Keyboard lag while typing on brand new laptop

Hello Wilfredo_Soto,

I downloaded the program that you suggested and I ran it. It showed me a list of drivers that I had to update. Since the program wasn't free I had to update them through device manager. Once I updated all of the drivers, I restarted the computer and tested
if the typing issue was resolved.

Unfortunately, it still continues to lag while typing.

 

Keyboard has a weird type of lag.

I have a Windows 10 laptop, which I use to play games occasionally. Two out of three times there will be an inconsistent lag in my keyboard inputs. For example, if I press a button to move forward, after half a second of pressing it my character will start
moving. But, when I let go, my character will keep moving for a bit. This lag is also quite noticeable in typing, but at least keys don't get repeated. It's very inconsistent, sometimes it will happen, others it will not, and the only thing that can fix it
is a restart, which doesn't always work. All my drivers are up to date. Sticky and Filter keys are off. Any suggestions?

We would like to know more about your lag issue:

• What browser are you using when you experience a lag?
• Does the lag occur in a particular game?

In the meantime, we suggest you run the System Maintenance troubleshooter. Here are the steps:

• Press Windows Key + X.
• Click on Control Panel.
• Select Troubleshooting.
• On the left pane, click on View All.
• Click on System Maintenance to run the troubleshooter.
