Windows 10: Fresh windows 10 install not booting

Hello. I have just recently upgraded the core hardware of my computer. in so doing I prepared to have a fresh install running windows 10 as opposed to windows 7 which I had been using previously.


I downloaded the Windows 10 ISO and made a recovery partition on my storage disk where I unpacked and flagged the boot file for bios.


After having done so and seeing it working I dis and reassembled my computer and booted it up. as I expected the windows 10 boot started instantly. I was lucky with the bios order I guess


I wiped my previous system disk containing the previous windows 7 and began the install. everything proceeds seemingly smoothly until it asks for a restart.


as it does it reloads the windows setup - I restart and reconfigure the boot order in bios to favor the system disk over the storage disk.


it gives me the following message:


"Reboot and select proper boot device or insert Boot Media in selected Boot device and press a key" it just spams the message whatever I do on this screen


I have tried reinstalling it thrice wiping the disk every time to the same effect. at first I formatted the disk and later following a tip from another comment I simply wiped it before directing the install.


For some reason Bios is not recognizing the System disk as a bootable device the bios doesn't seemingly move down the priority if it cannot find what it looks for in an existing device it is directed toward



I cannot install windows on my storage disk as the installer complains about "The disk has an MBR partition table. On EFI Systems, Windows can only be installed on GPT disks." I assume this might be because this partition has a partition contaiing the installation files - it will not allow me to partition it further in the installation screen.



I can't quite understand what is going wrong, and any help would be appreciated.


I am going to try to excavate an old hard drive and see if I can install it on something other than the SSD supposed System drive. but as it is a difficult remedy for me to do, I ask for what aid you can and are willing to give.

I was having a slow boot issue on my Windows 7 install a little while back. It would take about 30 - 40 extra seconds to boot up for whatever reason.

I would try following these steps, while this didn't solve my issue, it did increase Read/Write to where it should be.

In the end, I had to reinstall my Windows 7 entirely to fix the booting issue. It was taking around 35 seconds to boot, and after the fresh install it takes about 7 seconds to boot.

 

Fresh USB Windows 10 Install - Failing

I am trying to install a fresh copy (reformatted the hard disk) of windows 10 using a USB

• Created an installation media on a USB flash drive (Win 10 pro) from this page Download Windows 10
• Changed the boot order on the other PC so that it boots using USB
• Selected custom install
• Installing Windows goes through the following steps successfully: Copying Windows Files, Getting Files ready for installation, Installing features, Installing updates and before the last step (Finishing up), it restarts
• Then it goes back to the start of the installation steps

I am stuck and have read numerous posts but don't know what to do to install a fresh copy of Win 10.
