Windows 10: Fresh Windows install - 100% Disk Usage

I have recently put together my new PC with the following specs :

- Ryzen 5 3600

- 16Gb ram

- B450 I Aorus Pro Wifi

- GTX 1660 Super

- 2Tb HHD

-450W PSU

When booting up windows I check the task manager as soon as it lets me. however, when I check it is at a constant 100% disk usage. I am not running anything and yet it can range from 70%+. When undergoing simple low load tasks everything is lower than 25% usage except that of my drive which will stay at a constant 100% usage. I have already tried the basic solutions I have been able to find on the internet. I have checked my drivers they should be up to date, I have defragged, I have turned off windows search/sysmain, I have turned off automatic updates, I have altered my virtual memory, checked the configuration of my AHCI PCIe, changed power delivery from balanced to high performance, and even reinstalled windows.


What can I do?

100% disk usage on Windows 10

I have been having 100% disk usage off and on for several months. I have tried all steps from every suggestion I can find and nothing resolves the issue. I finally reset to a fresh install of Windows (wiping out all of my files and programs). Here I am
with nothing on this computer, two programs open (Task Manager and Chrome), bouncing between 22-100% disk usage. Please help! I'm at my wits end! I have a Intel Core i7-7500 CPU @ 2.75 GHz, 2tb hard drive and 16 GB RAM

 

100% Disk Usage after fresh install of Windows 10

I bought a laptop Christmas 2018 (Dell Inspiron 15 Gaming Laptop, Intel Core i5-7300HQ, 8GB RAM, 1TB Hybrid HDD, GeForce GTX 1050, 15.6" Full HD) and since having it the Disk Usage is constantly at 100% as soon as I log in. The
laptop is fast to boot up and shut down but as soon as I log in the disk usage shoots up to 100% making everything very slow to load. I got a Dell representative to remote in about 6 months ago to try fix the issue but it has just kept happening. I used the
download tool to create a fresh install of windows and let that run last night but, again, as soon as I log in the Disk Usage is still at 100%. Is there anything in particular I can do to reduce the Disk Usage and make my laptop usable at a decent speed?

For us to properly isolate the issue and provide an appropriate resolution, kindly answer the questions below:

• Did the issue happen after installing the Fall Creators?
• Did you receive any error messages?
• Can you send us the screenshot of the Task Manager showing the 100% disk usage and memory usage?
• What troubleshooting steps have you done so far?
