Windows 10: Friend tried to log into computer, a popup occurred when he tried to input his pin.

Friend was trying to log onto his PC and got a error message Should be in this post and tried to troubleshoot. Tried restarting, turning the power off, and tried using the advanced startup menu. We've tried everything the internet has told us. We are stuck and need help.Thank you.

Little to no keyboard input on windows 10 login screen

I have encountered an issue where only the space bar and enter keys work on login.

Below is a step by step of what I have found so far:

1. I restarted my computer - and tried to enter my pin and noticed that nothing was happening and i could not log in but the enter and space keys were working.
2. I then walked through the change pin process - it through me back to the login screen and inputs worked again.
3. I then tried running the hardware and device troubleshooter and it found no issues.
4. I then downloaded the windows diagnostic tool - it repaired two issues in relation to a windows update, on in regards to a corrupt database and another which i cant remember.
5. I restarted after it fixed these issues and I could log in fine.
6. I then restarted again to be 100% sure it worked - and behold the issue was back again.
7. As long as I go into the reset pin process and come back into the login screen again I can then enter my pin.

I dont know what has caused this issue and if anyone else has encountered it but is there any fixes or other potential solutions could try to resolve this?

Am thinking at the moment I may have to do a clean install of windows 10 but I would like to avoid that if I can. *sarc

 

Tried upgrade friends pc to windows 10

So my friend bought a used pc with windows 7 so as a nice friend i tried to upgrade it to windows 10. It didn't end up working i followed microsoft's steps and several other tutorials, none of them worked but now my friends computer is slowing falling
apart like his GPU kept black screening the pc when he tried to start fornite and now he says almost nothing works please help.

Some system components may be missing or corrupted, causing the problem you are facing to occur. Before we can fully address this, please answer some things so we can understand this better:

• Did this start after updates were installed on the computer?
• Does the same situation happen when you add a pin as your sign-in option in Windows Settings?

Since you have tried adding the option in Control Panel, let's see if there will be a difference when we do it in Windows Settings. Follow these steps:

• Click on Start.
• Open Settings.
• Choose Accounts.
• Go to Sign-in options.
• Under PIN, click on Add.
