  1. Friend was sent a fishy email by a bingbot

    Hi,

I'm Peyton Richie, a 16 year old whos a techy nerd, and at my school is well known for dealing with people who try to phish fellow students or teachers. Yesterday, 10/23 My principal received an email from the email *** Email address is removed for privacy *** and was sent a phishing email about a sign in failure and told him to reset his password. Which we can only assume was a scam to get sign in info or an IP. In retaliation I countered them by sending another phishing email, which was clicked within seconds. When I check the IP address of the person who clicked the email, I am told that It is a Microsoft BingBot located in the exact location of Microsoft Headquarters. I'm curious if A. you can help me get to the bottom of this and shut them down. And B. figure out if it was by any chance a situation where someone hijacked a BingBot and is using it to scam people.

    :)

    Email to my friend

The likely explanation is that you are using a different character encoding than
    your friend.

For example, you may be sending special characters in another language to
someone who only uses English, and they are then displayed as binary
    in hexadecimal.

I suggest to compare the email you sent with what she sees to find out which
    are these characters.

What do this figures mean in my email to my friend. They were not there when I sent it to her, but when she opened the letter, there they were - as follows - \uD83E\uDD14

Tailoring Emails Sent to Multiple Contacts

    Hello.

I want to send emails to multiple contacts, separated by the ; of course, but if an individual replies, that reply would only be seen by me, the original sender.

You see, I sent an email to multiple contacts and the replies were meant for me only - not for reading by the whole contact list I sent the email to. You follow?

It is rather redundant to re-type/send individual emails saying the same thing to many contacts to get individual responses.

Let's say, for example, I sent out a performance questionnaire to many contacts. I want the contacts to reply without the other contacts knowing what their responses are.

Nothing 'shady' mind you. Just want contacts to freely express their opinions/suggestions/recommendations/help.

    Thanks for your input!
